Abbie's Intermission is a modern-day anti-slavery movement protecting those coming out of human slavery and sexual exploitation.
Abigail Wachsmann was born on June 9, 1992 and went to be with the Lord on May 13, 2011. Abbie's dream was to adopt Ukrainian orphans to give them a real home. Abigail went to Eastern Europe when she was nine years old and loved the friends that she made in the tiny country of Macedonia. She never forgot the experiences she had and the wonderful imagery of that landscape never left her mind. Although never having experienced trafficking herself, Abbie's is a lasting legacy to her memory in honor of her love for both Eastern Europe and justice for those in captivity.

Our Mission.

Abbie's Intermission exists to provide a safe haven and a city of refuge for survivors of human trafficking. Rescuing young people from modern day slavery while providing a safe place to recover and prepare them to reintegrate into society is at the core of our foundational principles.

Our global agenda has led us to the hot spot for human sex trafficking--Germany. Because of the wealth of the German nation in the European Union and the fact that since 2005 there has been legal prostitution in Germany, has provided a sort of safe haven for traffickers, especially those from Eastern Europe. With government estimates at over 270,000 people being trafficked to Germany each year, the numbers have become overwhelming for German citizens themselves. German newspapers now tag Germany as being the hotspot for sex tourism for the entire world.

Abbie's House.

Abbie's House provides safety for young and older alike who have come out of human trafficking situations. In places around the globe, young people are many times forced into the sex trade because of the environmental pressures around them. Many are kidnapped or lied to because the traffickers prey on their vulnerability. Abbie's House provides shelter for those leaving orphanages until they are settled in careers after university or trade schools. It also is an exit strategy for those leaving brothels, many who have run and escape.
